In a huge survey... 61% of businesses rank lead generation as their number one challenge right now. Getting leads, winning new clients and attaining consistent revenue isn't easy.

When businesses come to me, "getting more consistent sales" is the top question out of 3 that I get asked all the time.

What are consistent sales? What does that mean to you - is it a flow of leads, a healthy pipeline, monthly recurring revenue? Whatever that vision looks like for you, I have to break some hard truths to you right now.

In the UK, there are over 600,000 businesses at ‘risk of failure’ alone. Are you one of them, are your clients in that category?

As the business owner, the buck stops with you. You have to become the no 1 expert at the marketing and selling of your services. You need to know what works, what brings in sales, what brings in leads. There's no unicorn that's going to magic this up for you.

There's a kicker here. Acquisition costs are a bit like fuel at the moment, and small businesses do not have deep pockets. The cost of acquiring new clients has increased almost 60% in recent years. If this is something you’re struggling with, you’re not alone: 49% of companies report that client acquisition is their biggest marketing challenge.

So what are you going to do about it?

Start by looking at your sales over the last 12 months, who are your best buyers? Those are the clients you want to target. Where did they come from? Look at your best sources of new clients and start there.

That’s ground zero. But here’s the thing.

While no two businesses are exactly alike, there is however one culprit when things do fall apart, sales stall and it’s a hot mess.

That culprit is not knowing where your next client is coming from.

Yes. Hello 'feast and famine'. In fact, I was researching and Googled "feast and famine of small businesses" and there are just under 5 million search results so this is a thing, a real thing.

A flood of new work, no new clients, not knowing where that work came from, desperately scrapping for new work, responding to every time sucking RFP that comes your way. I get it, you're in the survival trap.

BUT...

Momentum, predictable cash flow, hiring new team members with confidence, having more certainty to take the work or projects you want to do.

That's what awaits you when you get off the rollercoaster.

How? That’s a great question.

CONSISTENCY.

You need to crack the code to have a conveyor belt of new clients, create a sustainable business model and the systems to manage your work and never take your eye off where your next client is coming from.

I know what you’re going to say next. But Sian, we’re getting our new business from referrals.

Hmmmm. You are not alone. 85% of small businesses rely on referrals and word of mouth as the main source of business.

THE PROBLEM.

There were over 835,000 new businesses born in 2021 in the UK alone. You're defending your market position by relying on hope and a prayer?

The good news is that you have an opportunity to get ahead of your competitors while they still rely on word of mouth. SO the simplest strategy could help you outperform your competitors by 3 times.

HOPE IS NOT A STRATEGY. And praying doesn't fill the pipeline.

Lucky for you. I am the self-titled referral queen and I can show you how to become strategically oriented around referrals and make sure the clients you get are the right fit and that you’ve leveraged it not leaving it to chance.

Ok, so I want to sum this up.

I’ve found several articles and done some research on the most common struggles that small business owners face. The things that keep coming up over and over again.

  1. Finding new clients

  2. Lead generation

  3. Difficulty with cash flow

  4. Increasing Competition

  5. Finding talent

What's interesting to me is that there's one golden thread that ties all of these things together. There's one THING that rules them all.

YOUR ABILITY TO REV UP YOUR REVENUE.

Believe it or not, the silver lining of the last few years is that people are so much more willing to do business online. I've got clients all over the world from Vietnam to India, South Africa and the States and these could very well be your Goldrush years.

I get it though, it's hard and a lot of clients say to me "why isn't there just a roadmap to tell me what to do". If there was, I'd write a book and be done with it. But what you need are proven strategies that are working now and a roadmap to show you the steps to take with less trial and error.

Now you can go listen to all the podcasts, you can go buy all the books, do all the things. Or you can give me 90 minutes of your time. I’m going to give you the exact blueprint to grow your business by at least 72% this year and the exact steps to take, I can't wait to support you in the Rev up your Revenue masterclass.
